2006 RainMaker “New Horizons” Client Conference in San Diego
Attendees Viewed Exciting New Technology and Took Advantage of Networking
Opportunities

October 4, 2006

RainMaker Software, a leading full-service provider of Financial Management, Practice Management, Business Intelligence and Case/Matter Management Software for mid-to-large sized law firms, corporate legal departments and government agencies recently hosted their 28th Annual Client Conference & User Group Meeting entitled “New Horizons – Endless Possibilities” at the Hotel Del Coronado on Coronado Island, California.

The 2006 Client Conference officially commenced on Sunday afternoon with an informative
presentation by president Jim Hammond. Attendees left the kick-off session with a new
understanding of RainMaker’s technological future that will positively impact the way they do
business. The kick-off session set the tone and gave the event even more momentum as people realized the “endless possibilities” available with new RainMaker technology. New horizons were explored as RainMaker Vice President of Product Development Lak Ayyar and Quality Assurance Analyst Alecia Lingenfelter showed prototypes of soon to be released Platinum version 8.0 as well as an entire session dedicated to showing the new billing and accounts receivable features. The conference also offered an opportunity for clients to network, share success stories and impart their thoughts during the User Group Board Meeting on Monday.

As a twenty year RainMaker client and conference attendee, Ed Pierce, controller for Richards,
Layton & Finger, P.A. and RainMaker User Group president, stated “Each year I look forward to
the open exchange of ideas, best practices and, most of all, the invaluable networking opportunity the conference offers. This is something you can’t get over the Internet.”

In addition to the informative sessions, RainMaker welcomed keynote speaker, Marsha Petrie
Sue, MBA to the General Session on Monday morning. Marsha’s speech, “The Flexibility Factor” was most inspiring, enhancing the overall conference experience. Attendees also participated in many networking events as they attended a User Group sponsored cocktail reception on Sunday evening, an evening aboard the AMERICA-USA 1 yacht and a beach party on Tuesday evening.

“Our firm, Wolff & Samson P.C. recently purchased RainMaker Platinum, so this was my first
RainMaker Client Conference,” said administrator Barbara Mooney. “Attending the conference
re-confirmed to me that RainMaker was an excellent choice for our firm. I was able to glean
knowledge not only from the RainMaker employees at the conference and post-conference
training, but also from meeting other users who discussed how they use and benefit from the
system.”

The RainMaker Client Conference & User Group Meeting is a unique opportunity for clients to
meet and network with other users of RainMaker systems. In addition to the educational sessions, there are many topics specifically designed to convey the latest in law firm business practices. The conference is designed to address questions and issues at many levels within the firm, from billing and accounting to firm management. In addition, the RainMaker Client Conference provides a venue for users to establish face-to-face contact with members of the RainMaker team, including those in development, support, implementation and management.

“I have been attending the conference for 21 years,” said data processing manager for Robinson & Cole LLP, Nancy Cummings. “I find that each year offers a unique experience. This year, for instance, I sat in an “Overview of Version 8.0” session conducted by RainMaker’s vice president of product development. To hear about Platinum version 8.0 first-hand was invaluable. Seeing all of the new and improved features makes me anticipate the release even more! The networking with my peers is invaluable; one can learn so much from other users and vice versa. This aspect, along with the value the conference offers, keeps me coming back each year.”
