RainMaker's Gold Standing Earns Microsoft Lab Time
Company to Participate in the Microsoft® SQL Server 2005 Front Runner Initiative

RainMaker Software, Inc., a leading full-service

Management software for mid-to-large size law firms and corporate legal departments, announced
that they were recently invited to the Microsoft Compatibility Labs in Austin, Texas to
participate in the very successful pre-launch testing of their entire Platinum software product line,
with the newly available SQL Server 2005 data management and analysis software.
RainMaker, as an enrolled member of the SQL Server 2005 Front Runner Initiative
program, will also be receiving Microsoft BetaOne Services to assist in the launch efforts.
The invitation was a result of a longstanding Gold Partnership and certified ISV (Independent
Software Vendor) status RainMaker has with Microsoft. Lak Ayyar, RainMaker’s vice president,
research & development, and a group of the company’s development and QA staff conducted the
tests, with assistance from Microsoft engineers. Through attending the lab, not only did
RainMaker demonstrate that all existing Platinum Windows and Web applications were
compatible with the new database platform, they also reaped many other benefits. “As an ISV
Gold partner, and for attending this lab, we can make use of the Microsoft facility to setup new
applications for our prospective clients before they buy as well as utilizing Microsoft for SQL
BetaOne Support Services,” said Ayyar. “Our success at the Compatibility Labs has reinforced
our belief that RainMaker’s investments in Microsoft’s® .NET technology has provided us with a
substantial advantage over our competitors; giving our clients the option to very easily install our
products in either a SQL Server 2000 or SQL Server 2005 environment.”
